Due diligence
For investment opportunity with operating partners, it is important that the standards of the potential operators are assessed and are acceptable to charterers, including where appropriate oil Majors. We can carry out:
- Due diligence auditing both companies and their sea going and shore based assets.
- Pre purchase condition surveys.
- Conducting company audits for approval for business with both oil majors and charterers.
- Assist with the managing of TMSA (Tanker Management Self Assessment) submissions to OCIMF.
New Building & Ship repairs
Optima have Consultants with extensive experience in both Ship-building and Ship-repairing.
- We are able to provide assistance and guidance for all aspects of the technical aspects of New Building Contracts and Specifications including their preparation.
- Writing Repair Specifications and Supervision of Repairs, Selection and Nomination of Repair Yards.
- Developing HSE Contract Clauses, Procedures, Practices and Interface Plans.
- Providing Guidance and Assistance to the Superintendents for the Maintenance Planning and Dry-docking Specifications.
- Front End Design advice, Candidate Selection and Operational Auditing for FPSOs.

Working with the vessels HSE Team to achieve safety improvements in the working environment. Transferring BP Group Standards such as gHSEr, Golden Rules, Advanced Safety Auditing (ASA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to the contractor. |

| Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) | KPC required a review of the performance of dry-docking repair contracts that are executed by its subsidiary, Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC). Optima was contracted to Review the Performance of Dry-docking Management for KOTC Vessels as Technical Auditor. The project was jointly executed with an internationally known accounting corporation who provided the business/commercial audit. The project included evaluating dry-docking policies and procedures, technical review of specifications, reviewing contract awarding process, paint supply and repair cost study, as well as examination of additional costs and safety regulations. The outcome from the study was over 60 technical and business observations / recommendations to improve the dry-docking management process. |
